Cream of Wheat is one of my favorites breakfast meal. Years ago, Coffee and crackers or bread were my only breakfast meal. I was so addicted to coffee that it was the only thing I would take first thing in the morning. After, I got a very severe throat infection coffee became a thing from the past. I cant explain why my body rejected this addiction but now I am glad it did. So, I had to replace my breakfast addiction with a warm meal and Cream of Wheat was one of my top choices.
I love cinnamon and cloves flavor, they remind me of fall and since we are almost in the fall season I wanted to start off a little early by enjoying a flavorful warm breakfast. Is very simple to do and it can be made with different options, here is my favorite way of making it.
Ingredients for 1 Serving:
- 1/2 cup of Milk
- 3/4 cup of Water
- pinch of salt
- pinch of ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp of Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp of Vanilla
- 2 tbsp of sugar
- 3 tbsp cream of wheat
- dash of nutmeg (optional)
In a small pot bring water, milk, salt, ground cloves, cinnamon, vanilla and sugar to almost a boil.
Mix well, add slowly the cream of wheat, stirring constantly until is well blended. Reduce heat to low.
Continue stirring until desire consistency. Remove from heat, place in bowl and add a dash of nutmeg (if desired).
